Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered.

Clear answers about how Wanderhouse works, how previews are shared and what to expect from a project.

What is Wanderhouse?

Wanderhouse turns real homes, venues and places to stay into lifelike immersive previews.

We professionally capture the space and turn it into a detailed 3D environment that people can step inside and freely explore in virtual reality. Viewers choose where to stand, how to move and what to inspect, giving them a much clearer sense of the layout, scale, flow and atmosphere.

The same preview can also be explored through a web browser, revisited whenever needed and shared with other people involved in the decision.

How is Wanderhouse different from photos, video and standard virtual tours?

Photos show selected angles. Video follows a route chosen by someone else. Standard 360 tours usually move viewers between predetermined viewpoints.

Wanderhouse turns the captured space into a continuous, lifelike 3D environment. Viewers choose where to stand, how to move and what to inspect, whether they are exploring in virtual reality or through a browser.

They can stop wherever they choose, revisit rooms and focus on the details that matter to them, gaining a far more natural sense of the layout, scale, flow and atmosphere.

With Wanderhouse, you are not shown where to stand. You decide where to stand.

How is Wanderhouse different from Matterport?

Matterport's familiar property tours move viewers between viewpoints chosen when the space is captured.

Wanderhouse recreates the captured space as a continuous, lifelike 3D environment. Viewers choose where to stand, how to move and what to inspect, whether they are exploring in virtual reality or through a web browser.

They can stop wherever they like, change their viewpoint and focus on the details that matter personally to them.

With Matterport, the viewpoints are chosen during capture. With Wanderhouse, the viewer chooses them.

Who is Wanderhouse for?

Wanderhouse is designed for estate agents, developers, buying agents, relocation consultants, wedding venues, hotels and luxury stays.

We are also open to other projects where giving people the freedom to explore a real space remotely would help them understand it more clearly.

Do viewers need a VR headset?

No. A compatible VR headset gives the fullest Wanderhouse experience, allowing viewers to step inside, choose where to stand and move freely through the space. Every preview can also be explored through a web browser on desktop or mobile, and we can recommend suitable headsets where helpful.

How do people access a Wanderhouse immersive preview?

You receive access to the Wanderhouse platform, where you choose which preview to share and who can view it.

Send a secure link to selected buyers, clients or guests, or share it more widely if that suits the project. Viewers can then explore in virtual reality or through a web browser on desktop or mobile.

Access can be controlled for any preview, so you remain in charge of who sees what.

Does Wanderhouse replace an in-person visit?

Not necessarily. Wanderhouse can be useful before, after or alongside an in-person visit.

People may use it to narrow down their options, revisit a space afterwards, compare it with somewhere else or share it with family members, advisers or other decision makers who cannot attend.

It gives people a clearer way to understand the space whenever they need it.

Is Wanderhouse right for every property or space?

Not always.

Wanderhouse is most useful when the layout, scale, flow or atmosphere are difficult to understand through photos and video, when people are exploring from further afield, or when a more premium presentation would add real value.

We will always discuss the project first and tell you honestly whether we think Wanderhouse is the right fit.

How much does Wanderhouse cost?

Residential projects start from £3,000 + VAT for homes up to 1,500 sq ft. Larger homes are priced according to their internal floor area and the agreed scope of the project.

Estate agents planning to use Wanderhouse regularly can also choose a 3, 6 or 12 month partnership, with a fixed saving on every immersive preview during the agreed term.

Venues, hotels and luxury stays are quoted individually because the spaces included and hosting requirements can vary.

We confirm exactly what is included and the final price before you commit.

How does the process work?

We start by discussing the space, who the preview is for and what you would like it to achieve. We then agree which areas to capture, the price, timings, hosting and any privacy requirements.

We visit the property or venue, professionally capture the agreed areas and create the immersive preview.

Once it is ready, you receive access to the Wanderhouse platform, where you choose who can view each preview and send them a secure link.

How long does it take?

The on-site capture time depends on the size, layout and complexity of the space.

As a guide, a residential property of around 2,000 sq ft usually takes approximately three to four hours to capture. Larger homes, venues or projects involving several buildings will take longer.

We confirm the expected capture time and delivery date before the project is booked.

How should the space be prepared?

The preview captures the space as it appears on the day, so it should be clean, tidy and presented exactly as you would like people to see it.

Please remove unnecessary clutter, confidential information and anything you do not want included.

You choose which rooms and areas are captured, and we provide clear preparation guidance before the visit.
